Independent Financial Advisers work in a highly regulated market that has changed significantly in recent years. The high level of regulation combined with the rapidly developing claims culture has had a serious impact on the profitability of most financial advisers. To prosper in this environment Independent Financial Advisers must operate with high professional standards, strong business ethics and compliant systems.

Gauntlet Club is an association of IFAs that have grouped together to meet the challenges posed by the increasing market regulation. Each member has to demonstrate its commitment to customer satisfaction through the adoption of risk management processes that reduce complaints and claims.

The main benefit of Gauntlet Club membership is the right to apply for professional indemnity insurance from Gauntlet Standard – a specialist facility that benefits from Member's commitment to the effective management of risk.

Gauntlet Club is open to any IFA which shares the Club's objectives and which has in place sound risk management processes and a sound compliance regime. The compliance regime may be subject to appraisal by independent audit. At the moment the club has two approved Compliance Companies - ATEB Consulting and IFA Compliance Ltd.

To apply for membership a company must complete the downloadable Club Application Form and forward this to Gauntlet. This must be accompanied by details of your compliance regime. Club Rules and a Frequently Asked Questions document are also available as downloads. Please read the documents carefully.
On receipt of the fully completed documents Gauntlet Club will notify the IFA if their application for club membership has been successful within five working days.
